Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday to Dear Beary!

Happy Birthday to you!

For your birthday you and your whole family get to go back in time to an early summer in a year before airconditioning!

Yep.  The heating and air folks just came last week, and they need to come again.  I sit here in the only semi-cool room in the house.  The basement.  Just think, in what 11 days, I’ll be on my way to Mexico.  About 13 degrees hotter.  Oh boy.

Here’s the Great Grand Daddy H rabbit trap we built last Friday:

Built in the true H way.  Made of some pallets we took apart, sticks from the yard and some old deck screws. The only thing we bought was a tool (that’s the rule, no matter the project, you always buy at least one tool).  It will more likely hurt anyone that gets near than catch a rabbit, but hey.

Now, guess where I get to go. Ok I’ll just tell you.  I’m too excited.  You know what?  I think I’ll just keep you in suspense for a while.  Oh I can’t wait.  I’ll just tell you now.  I get to go to The Rebelution Conference!  I can’t wait, except, the part were I have to stay home for a few days, while everyone else but Daddy go look at houses in Huntsville.  But then, while everybody’s gone I can work on that never-ending mathbook .  And fill you in on our trip to Mexico .  We’re going to fly down (after daddy gets home from work) the day before the Conference  (I’ve only flown once before).  I’m SOO EXCITED!  This definitely goes on the Events list on the sidebar!

Ok, I’m calmed down now.   And now the update on my "garden":

My Peppermint is doing much better now that I moved it to the deck, it was getting too hot out front.

My Lettuce is not doing so well.  See, all the wiltiness? /\/\ Don’t know why.

My Chamomile is doing great!  No flowers yet, though. (Thats just clover. I need to mow.)

See?  It’s so big I’ve started harvesting and drying.  Every time Daddy passes the pot he breaks some off and eats it.  It is good.

Well I warned you it was a long post.

Over and out…

Tunics of skin

Hi Mr. Vanderhoganhagenmizer.  How’s the candle makin’ business?

Oh boy!  Last night, as we were getting ready for family devotions, we decided to do them "ootzide" since it was so nice out there and we got done with dinner early.  We have been reading Genesis, and last night we were at Genesis 3 (You know the part, the fall of man),  and when we got to the part after they sinned and God asked them were they were and they said "We’re over here.  We didn’t want you to see us because we’re naked." and God said "Who told you that?"  and they go on and on blaming each other and the serpent, and we got to the part  "Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them".  Daddy went on reading, but Musical had a very disurbed look on her face, and she kept saying "Daddy?  Daddy?", trying to get his attention.  When Daddy stoped to see what she wanted,  I had figured out what her look meant, so I told Musical that God didn’t take two nicks out of their skin to make clothes for them.  When we were done laughing, Daddy explained what a tunic was, and that the skins were animal skins, not two little pieces of their skin.  Then when we were done reading and were talking, I guess Bubba still had that they were naked on his mind, and he blurted out (really loud) "That red guy’s naked!" pointing across the street at a man in a reddish T shirt, that looked like a really (really) bad sunburn, standing half behind a bush!  Oh, we tried not to laugh too loud, but it was hard.  LOL!

After we were done, we were getting ready to play "Blind Guy in the Desert" I don’t know why it’s called that, it’s like freeze tag, but the person who’s "It" is blind-folded.  Our neighbors came over, and asked if their girls could stay with us for an hour, so they could go to Tae-Kwan-Do, and Daddy’s off today so they got to stay.  And we played with them and it was really good, because Mama made No-Bakes (Go to Musical’s blog for the recipe I think its still on the Recent Posts).

Well my times up on here.

Did you notice it?

Hola! (I think)

Well did you?  The thing up there.  Above this post .  /\ Right up there/\.  The ticker thing.  Yeah that.  We’re going to Mexico!  The whole family!  Daddy, Mama, Lovable, Musical, Bubba, Little Miss H and I.  Everybody.  You may be wondering why I chose a ladder and hammer for the design.  We’re going with a ministry called Casas por Cristo.  A group from our church is going and there’s about 50 people are going.  I’m soooo exsited, other than we have to get tetnes shots before we go.  I had a bad experience when I was like three, they didn’t tell Mama they were going to draw blood and I freaked out (yes I remember!).  Back on subject, I won’t be back until a week after the 7 th.  And next Tuesday ’til Friday I may not be on much, because we’re going to Huntsville for a recon trip to look at apartments.  Then that Saturday we will be at a yard sale at church.  Then we have to start packing for the trip.  And after that we have to start packing to move to Huntsville.  Busy, busy, busy!

You may be wondering what in the world that flag over there is.  Click it and you will go to the blog of a Missionary family from our church.  They are in Mozambique in southern Africa bordering Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Swaziland and South Africa.  It’s about twice the size of CA.

My back hurts.  Daddy always knows what to do and he’s in Ohio.   And we’re out of Advil.  My back hurts.  I’m going to bed.  Good-night.  Ok,  I won’t go to bed.  But I’m done blogging  for now.

A tag and other nonsense

Well… my Chamomile is growing like a weed.  Wait, Chamomile is an herb, and herbs are weeds.  I need to go get a picture.  Ummwell I got the book I’ve been wanting for about three weeks. "Do Hard Things" by Alex and Brett Harris.  It is so good!  Get a copy!  Here are the pictures I sent.  To see other peoples pictures, click here, and here, and here.  To understand my first two pictures, click here.  This is my favorite thing on the blog, and it’s so true. You understand the last picture.  SHE’S CUTE, AND IT’S A GOOD BOOK!

I really like the book!  Hmmm… lets see, what has been going on… hmm… oh I know.  Yesterday I put a swing in the tree we climb.  Really it’s the next door girls’ tree.  They have an old swing set that is too dangerous to play on.  So I took the swings off and put them on the tree.  Yes, I got permission to do all of it!

Jo had this tag, and I wanted to do it. So here goes.
